This is Thepowerlevel. Here we will make a comprehensive intorduction of Age of Conan Questing and Combat. You may know of that after you learning this article. Ok, let's go now...

Questing

In Age of Conan, as with other MMORPGs, quests are a great way to gain XP (experience points) and rewards, such as gear upgrades and currency. Quests are given out by NPCs (Non-Player Characters) throughout Hyboria. Unless you have moved from the beach already, your first Quest NPC can be found right behind you. Casilda is blocking the entrance to the jungle and she needs your help. In Age of Conan, Quest NPCs are recognizable by the "!" symbol over their heads, a "?" symbolizes a quest that is ready to turn in.

In order to pick up a quest in Age of Conan you typically must speak to a quest-giver NPC or examine an item that will trigger a quest. Once you have accepted the quest you will be able to find it in your Quest Journal.

Some quests will ask you to kill a number of a specific type of mob, while other quests may ask you to perform several tasks before receiving your reward. While most quests are not class specific, there are longer quest lines which are, such as the Destiny Quests in Tortage. After you have completed a quest, return to the NPC quest-giver for your reward. Often completion of a quest will open up a new quest from the same NPC.

Check your Quest Journal often by pressing the "J" key on your keyboard or click the Quest button in the Character Menu at the top of your screen. Your Quest Journal will show your progress and the reward for completion. Quests are split up by zone and time of day, then quest trees show a quest's difficulty sorted by color. Green would symbolize a relatively easy quest, yellow would be intermediate and red would be hard. While green and yellow quests will provide you with better experience and loot, you may still turn in grey quests (no challenge) for a small amount of experience points and lesser rewards.

Loot

When you kill a NPC you have a good chance of a "loot drop". In Age of Conan loot comes in the form of a bag or a chest. Double click on the loot bag to see what's in it, and choose to place the items in your inventory. The higher the level of the NPC, the better loot you will get. In addition to items you will also often receive coin. Killing a boss or raid mob produces the best loot in the game. In addition to NPC loot drops, you will sometimes find chests (often guarded by a boss mob) out in the open. These chests will sometimes contain quest items, such as keys.

Inventory and Equipment

To toggle your inventory use the "I" key on your keyboard or click the Inventory button in the Character Menu at the top of your screen. Your inventory is what you are carrying on your person. Whenever you visit a town you should sell anything you do not want in order to free up space in your inventory. You may cursor over items to read a description of the item. After scoring some kills and looting corpses, be sure to compare your Inventory screen to your Equipment screen to see if you have picked up any armor or weapon upgrades. Simply hover over the item to compare its stats to your current stats, and click the item in your inventory to move it to your body.

Attributes and Skills

All classes start with a base set of attributes which increase as you level your character. With each level gained you will receive new points in which to spend on upgrading basic skills pertinent to your class. Attributes include the following:

Strength: Gives you a damage bonus for melee attacks and also increases the attack rating for certain weapons.
Dexterity: Gives you a bonus to your defense rating and increases the attack rating for certain weapons.
Constitution: Determines the amount of health and stamina your character has.
Intelligence: Determines the amount of mana your character has, and increases magic rating for mages.
Wisdom: Determines the amount of mana your character has, and increases the magic rating for priests.

Additionally, your character will have "resistances" to things such as magic and cold, which will affect your attack and defense ratings. Your resistance will increase as you upgrade your equipment.

Here are a few other skills worth mentioning:

Climbing: When you come to a climb point you will be alerted. In order to climb you must put some points into your climbing skill. Certain climb points will require more points than others.

Path of Asura: This skill does not require any points in order to use it. Path of Asura will transport you to your last "bind point". It comes in very handy when far from town and you don't feel like running! Look in major cities for "Wayfarers", these NPCs will bind you to that zone if you request it of them.

Run Speed: Your run speed can be increased by putting skill points into run. Additionally, mounts can be obtained within the game which will further increase your speed.

Spells

To view your spells use the "B" key on your keyboard or click the Spells button in the Character Menu at the top of your screen. If you are playing a Mage or Priest then you will receive new "Spells" as you level up. Note that some classes receive both Spells and Combos. A spell may be either Friendly or Hostile. Priests will have a large variety of Friendly spells such as heals and buffs (spells which increase the stats of your own character and other players), while their Hostile spells will be limited. Mages will have a large variety of Hostile spells which are to be cast upon the enemy to cause damage.

In order to cast a spell simply press the corresponding icon on your Hotbar. Spellcasters do not typically engage in melee combat, instead they stand back and use their large arsenal of spells. Each spell that you cast will consume "Mana" so be sure to watch your blue bar! Mana will replenish with rest. Additionally, spells have a refresh period during which the spell be unusable.

Combos

To view your combos use the "B" key on your keyboard or click the Spells button in the Character Menu at the top of your screen. If you are playing a Rogue or Soldier, you will receive new "Combos" as you level up. Note that some classes receive both Spells and Combos. Combos are like Spells for melee classes, they are used to increase your DPS (Damage Per Second), but unlike Spells they require you to activate the Combo and then perform a series of swings via your directional attack buttons.

Initially Combos will only require one key press, but will become more advanced (and powerful) as you gain levels. Each Combo that you use will consume "Stamina" so watch your green bar! Stamina will replenish with rest. Additionally, combos have a cooldown period during which the combo will be unusable.

Feats

To view your feats use the "N" key on your keyboard or click the Spells button in the Character Menu at the top of your screen. Once you reach level 10 you will begin to collect "Feat" points. You may spend these points on special abilities. Each character has three feat trees. The "General" feats are specific to your Archetype, the other two feat trees are specific to your class.

Many feats require that you spend multiple points (up to five) before you can branch out in the selected tree. With each point spent the ability you are purchasing will increase in potency. If you put a point in to a feat and feel you have made a mistake, you can "respec" (reset your points) by speaking to a Trainer NPC in a major city such as Khemi. The first time you reset your feats the charge is nominal, but it does increase with each reset, so be careful when making your choices! You can plan our your feats ahead of time using the AoC Vault Feat Calculator.

Targeting

The targeting system will allow you to select mobs, NPCs and other players that are within your view. Press the "TAB" key on your keyboard to Target the nearest enemy, or you may set up auto-target in your options menu and your character will automatically target every player and NPC that you head towards. You can cycle through all nearby enemies by continually pressing the TAB key. You can also target yourself by pressing F1, your group members by pressing F2-F6, and your nearest friend by pressing Ctrl + TAB.

Weapons and Armor

In order to properly defend yourself in Age of Conan it is important to upgrade your weapons and armor whenever possible. Some equipment is class specific. For example, a spellcaster can only wear cloth armor and some pieces of light armor. The types of armor available in Age of Conan include Cloth Armor, Light Armor, Medium Armor, Heavy Armor and Plate Armor.

The same applies to weapons in that not all classes can equip all weapons. Some of the weapon types in Age of Conan include Ranged (Bows, Knives, Spears), Daggers (can be dual-wielded by some classes), Blunt (Clubs and Maces), Edged (Swords) and Polearms.

Combat

When you begin to play Age of Conan you will be scantily dressed and carrying only a broken oar. This gear will get you through several levels, but you should watch for upgrades when you kill mobs and complete quests. Regardless of your class, for the first few levels your combat style will be mainly melee. The attacks available to you initially are right downwards, left downwards and a frontal attack. These attacks may be performed by using the directional keys in your Hotbar, or by pressing the numbers 1, 2 and 3 on your keyboard.

Eventually you will receive further directional attacks, but for now just worry about learning the three that you have! In Age of Conan the combat is all you, which means that you can't just start swinging and go get a drink, then come back to a dead mob. Each swing is yours, so you will have to push the buttons until your enemy is dead.

Fatalities

When you perform a successful Combo or Spell you have the chance to get a fatality. Watch the heads and limbs go flying!

Whether you are sick of that you work hard but earn little gold in Age of Conan. Or you have no time to earn money and power level your character.

This is Thepowerlevel. This time we will introduce the Age of Conan gathering. If you don't know of AOC gathering or know little, read the following and you may see.

Overview

Gathering or harvesting is a important part of Age of Conan, this section of AOC Stratics is here to make your life easier.

In Age of Conan there are 6 Gathering skills. You can take all 6 gathering skills.

Mining: This profession will allow you to gather resources such as copper, tin, iron and more. You can also find rare ones like aurichalcum and blue iron.

Prospecting: This profession will allow you to gather resources such as silver, electrum, gold and more. You can also find rare ones like illustrium and platinum.

Skinning: This profession will allow you to gather resources such as different types of leather, some of which are rare ones like the grained leather and the whorled leather.

Stonecutting: This profession will allow you to gather resources such as sandstone, granite, basalt and more. You can also find rare ones like adamant and obsidian.

Weaving: This profession will allow you to gather resources such as cotton, wool, flax and more. You can also find rare ones like bloodflax and cottonwisp.

Woodcutting: This profession will allow you to gather resources such as ash, yew, oak and more. You can also find rare ones like soulwood and amberwood.

What you gather are resources, and this resources are used to make things that range from weapons and armor, to potions, to entire cities, what you do with these resourses is covered on our Crafting section.

There are several kinds of resources, as you would assume they come from 3 kinds of entities; animals, minerals and plants.

Resource gathering in Age of Conan is initially introduced through quests, this makes it easier for players to understand why, what and how they go about and harvest. This also makes players become professionals on gathering resources, and lays a path of progression. Example, you are first an apprentice, and after gathering a certain number of resources you advance to journeyman.

Where to get resources and quests

To get to any of this harvesting quests you'll need to complete the initial 20 levels in Tortage and be directed to your race city, from there you travel to the nearest resource area, there is one for each race:

Aquilonia - Poitain

Old Tarantia - Getting to Poitain

Your starting location is Old Tarantia. The nearest gathering area is Poitain, to get there we first need to travel to the Wild Lands of Zelata. If your guild has built a city, this will transport you immediately to the location your city is build, even if it is not in Poitain but for example in Purple Lotus Swamp. Option 2: Travel to Poitain. This is the option you want to choose if you would like to travel to Poitain.

Cimmeria - Lacheich plains

Conarch Village - Getting to Lacheish Plains

Your starting location is Conarch Village. The nearest gathering area is Lacheish Plains, to get there we first need to travel to Conall's Valley. Conarch Village is quite big, when you open your map, the entrance to Conall's Valley is located at" 448:428. Arrived at the location you see a wooden wall with wooden door, pressing the wooden door will give you access to Conan's Valley.

Arrived in Conall's Valley, our next step is to travel to the Fields of the Dead. The entrance to this area is to the far east of the map. Keep following the road east, eventually you will need to go down a bit south as well, the exact entrance is located at coordinate: 1755:660. Pressing on the door will give you access to the Field of the Dead.

Arrived in the Fields of the Dead, our next step is to travel to Lacheish Plains. The entrance to this area is very close. Exact location: 115:225. It's about 100-200 meter south, you should see it on your minimap. Walk to the NPC, and talk. Talking to this NPC gives you 3 options, the first 2 options are of importance. Option 1: Bring me to my guild city. If your guild has built a city, this will transport you immediately to the location your city is build, even if it is not in Lacheish Plains but for example in Purple Lotus Swamp. Option 2: Travel to Lacheish Plains. This is the option you want to choose if you would like to travel to Lacheish Plains.

Stygia - Purple Lotus Swamp

Khemi - Getting to Purple Lotus Swamp

Your starting point is Khemi. The nearest gathering area is Purple lotus, to get there we first need to travel to the Khopshef's Province. Khemi is quite big, when you open your map, it is located on the other side of the Island. The location is: 788:1155. There should be a boat, and an NPC standing near. One of the NPC's has a tag below his name called: Khopshef's Province. Talk to this NPC, follow his dialogue, and you will be transported to Khopshef's Province.

When you arrive in Khopshef's Province, Purple Lotus Swamp is close. Open your map, follow the road that leads south. Our destination is 523:134. When you arrive at the location. There should be 2 NPC's. One of the NPC's has a tag below his name: Purple Lotus Swamp Guide. Talking to this NPC gives you 3 options, the first 2 options are of importance. Option 1: Bring me to my guild city. If your guild has built a city, this will transport you immediately to the location your city is build, even if it is not in Purple Lotus Swamp but for example in Potain. Option 2: Travel to Purple Lotus Swamp. This is the option you want to choose if you would like to travel to Purple Lotus Swamp.

Getting Started

You arrive one of the three gathering areas, each gathering area has a small town where all the gathering trainers are located. If you open your map you should see where it is, but here are the locations.

Lacheish Plains: Brandoc Village. Location: 1200:675
Poitain: Caenna Village. Location: 1277:1491
Purple Lotus Swamp: Nakaset Village. Location: 1125:1150

Each town has all the 6 trainers to train you the gathering skills. There location should be highlighted on your map with orange exclamation marks, if not, they are not hard to find. These trainers will be able to train you everything you need for the gathering skills. But there are some level boundaries.
The gathering skill is split up into 3 tiers.

Tier 1 Recources are available at level 20.
Tier 2 Recources are available at level 50.
Tier 3 Recources are available at level 70.

In the next sections we will explain what resources belong to each tier.

Note: If you train in Poitain as an example, you can use the gathering skills all over Hyboria, it is not limited to Potain.

Now that you have picked up all the gathering skills, it's time to start gathering! Each trainer should have given you a quest to gather 20 of each tier 1 recourse. So it's time to start exploring. In the next section we will explain what the Tier 1 Gathering Resources are and how you gather them.

NOTE: Resources are found in all areas of the game. They are not limited to one of the three Gathering areas. Both Normal and Epic areas have resources.

Trainer locations per Area

Poitain: Caenna Village

Miner - Yvanno: 1278,1521
Prospector - Simione: 1286,1496
Skinner - Iathos: 1304,1541
Stone Cutter - Aemias: 1362,1570
Weaver - Brienne: 1250,1480
Woodcutter - Taromus: 1289,1554

Purple Lotus Swamp: Nakaset Village

Miner - Augusted: 1210,1164
Prospector - Gera: 1202,1058
Skinner - Setaura: 1052,1175
Stone Cutter
Weaver - Tespet: 1157,1142
Woodcutter - Neseptor: 1165,1163

Lacheish Plains: Brandoc Village

Miner - Naos: 1199,716
Prospector - Sive: 1217,688
Skinner - Athor: 1245,668
Stone Cutter - Ruak: 1205,729
Weaver - Caytha: 1225,676
Woodcutter - Comgan: 1157,649

Tier 1 Gathering Resources (level 20+)
Mining: Copper Gathered from: Copper Node
Prospecting: Silver Gathered from: Silver Node
Skinning: Rough Leather Gathered from: Animals (level 20+)
Stonecutting: Sandstone Gathered from: Sandstone Node
Weaving: Cotton Gathered from: Cotton Shrubberies
Woodcutting: Ash Gathered from: Ash Tree

These node's or tree's are highlighted when you hover your mouse above them. Node's are quite big, and usually found near hills, on a slope, or on a hill. Tree's and Cotton Shrubbs are usually found in the open areas, they are easily recognized because they have an animation: Trees drop leaves and Shrubberies sparkle.

These gathering objects have a durability of 100%. Each time you harvest one the durability will drop by 10%. So if you would find for example a Copper node with 100% durability, you would be able to harvest 10 copper from it.

The durability on the gathering objects will slowly replenish itself, so a copper node that is harvested to 0%, will slowly gain durability so it is to be harvested again.

Resources have fixed locations and they have symbols on your map and mini map, so you can open your map with and check the location of the resources anytime.

Tier 2 Gathering Resources (level 50+)

Mining: Iron Gathered from: Iron Node
Prospecting: Electrum Gathered from: Electrum Node
Skinning: Calloused Leather Gathered from: Animals (level 40+)
Stonecutting: Granite Gathered from: Granite Node
Weaving: Silk Gathered from: Human mob?s (level 40+)
Woodcutting: Yew Gathered from: Yew Tree

These node's or tree's are highlighted when you hover your mouse above them. Node's are quite big, and usually found near hills, on a slope, or on a hill. Tree's and Cotton Shrubbs are usually found in the open areas, they are easily recognized because they have an animation: Trees drop leaves and Shrubberies sparkle.

The durability on the gathering objects will slowly replenish itself, so a copper node that is harvested to 0%, will slowly gain durability so it is to be harvested again.

Resources have fixed locations and they have symbols on your map and mini map, so you can open your map with and check the location of the resources anytime.

Tier 3 Gathering Recourses (level 70+)

Mining: Duskmetal Gathered from: Orichalcum Node
Prospecting: Gold Gathered from: Gold Node
Skinning: Gnarled Leather Gathered from: Animals (level 60+)
Stonecutting: Basalt Gathered from: Basalt Node
Weaving: Ironsilk Gathered from: Humans (level 60+)
Woodcutting: Oak Gathered from: Oak Tree

These node's or tree's are highlighted when you hover your mouse above them. Node's are quite big, and usually found near hills, on a slope, or on a hill. Tree's and Cotton Shrubbs are usually found in the open areas, they are easily recognized because they have an animation: Trees drop leaves and Shrubberies sparkle.

Resources have fixed locations and they have symbols on your map and mini map, so you can open your map with and check the location of the resources anytime.

Gathering rare resources

When you finish the first quests the trainers give you, you will get a follow up quest that requires you to get one rare resource. Each Tier recourse holds its own rare resource.

Note: By Rare, it's meant a 1% drop chance, if not lower for some resources.

If you get to harvest a rare, the resource object will loose 20% durability instead of the normal 10% durability.

NOTE: If the node has 11-19% durability left, you are still able to harvest a rare resourse.

Tier 1 Rares
Mining: Tin Gathered from:Copper Node
Prospecting: Black Silver Gathered from: Silver Node
Skinning: Brindled Leather Gathered from: Animals (level 20-40)
Stonecutting: Clear Quartz Gathered from: Sandstone Node
Weaving: Cottonwisp Gathered from: Cotton Shrubberies
Woodcutting: Ebon Ash Gathered from: Ash Tree

Tier 2 Rares

Mining: Aurichalcum Gathered from: Iron Node
Prospecting: Illustrium Gathered from: Electrum Node
Skinning: Grained Leather Gathered from: Animals (level 40-60)
Stonecutting: Feldspar Gathered from: Granite Node
Weaving: Tussah Silk Gathered from: Human mob's (level 40+)
Woodcutting: Amberwood Gathered from: Yew Tree

Tier 3 Rares

Mining: Star Metal Gathered from: Orichalcum Node
Prospecting: Platinum Gathered from: Gold Node
Skinning: Whorled Leather Gathered from: Animals (level 60-80)
Stonecutting: Obsidian Gathered from: Basalt Node
Weaving: Gossamir Silk Gathered from: Humans and Flax Bushes
Woodcutting: Soulwood Gathered from: Oak Tree

Age of Conan newbies, sometimes you may need some guides and learn to enhance your hero skills. Here i gather this aoc guide and hope it can help some new game players.

Age of Conan (AoC) is a massively multiplayer online role playing game set in the Conan* universe. Those new to this type of experience will find an expansive and detailed world for exploration and adventure. Those who have "done it all before" will find some familiar aspects but with many new additions.

Getting Started

Character Creation and Race/Class Choice

Character creation consists mainly of race/class selection and appearance customization. A great many different looks are possible if you spend some time playing around with the editor. Your race will determine the available class choices and the UI does a good job of displaying the available options here. One primary difference from most games is that only one race (Stygian) can become mages, though several classes have access to magic in one form or another.

Exploring

Everyone starts out in the same area. You'll get a nice cutscene to lead into the game, then the UI will guide you on your first steps. Items the game considers relevant to your situation will appear at the upper left. If you want them back after you dismiss them, type /help.

The initial areas are fairly path-driven and you might feel like there isn't enough freedom. Don't despair, the world opens up a LOT after you leave the starting areas. Even the "advanced-starting" areas like White Sands Isle and the Acheronian Ruins allow more free-range exploring. But if you want to see the world, you'll need to complete your Destiny Quest.

User Interface Options

The basic UI setup will get you by in the beginning. You can display 4 hotbars with the usual 1-0 keys to access them. You will also notice a shorter bar to the left of center. By default, the buttons on the left bar are not accessible with a keypress, but you can configure this under Interface Options (ESC or F10), HUD section.

The main hotbar is paged, with shift + to access the additional pages. An alternate bar is provided (just hold alt). Not so important at the beginning but it's a good place to put back up or "one-version-old" combos after you advance a bit.

Hit escape for options. Controls can be configured here as well as video options. Interface options provide (among other things) an ability to hide your helmet/hood and enable disable mature content. As mentioned, enable additional hotbars here under Interface | HUD options.

One other note: If you don't like the auto-facing in combat (or if you sometimes end up facing the wrong target), disable auto-facing in Interface Options (scroll down to targetting section).

Combat

There is more to combat in AoC than just auto-attack-and-wait. In fact by design there is no auto-attack. You need to place blows in the most vulnerable areas for maximum effect. If you get lost, use the field manual (/help) to get up to speed. You'll start with three basic attacks -- a left, right and straight-overhead attack. You will also notice what look like large white parentheses surrounding your opponents. There can be a total of three, distributed between left, right, and straight-overhead. Just like your attack buttons...

Combat Stance: Enter and exit combat stance by clicking the "crossed-swords" icon or hitting backspace. When weapons are out you are in combat mode and have access to combat moves. Some abilities (ex: hiding) cannot be initiated in combat mode. Put your weapons away first.

Area of Effect: Many attacks in AoC have a chance to affect multiple opponents. Even melee slashes and strikes may damage more than one target, though the primary target will take the most damage.
Combos: Combo attacks allow you to do additional damage and create weaknesses in your enemy. You gain combo attacks automatically as you level. To perform one, click the appropriate button in your hotbar. Notice one of your basic attack icons will become highlighted. Perform the indicated basic attack. Notice the "casting" timer window that appears. Do not perform another action until the timer completes or the combo will be canceled!

Enemy Shields: The parenthesis objects represent shields. You will experience reduced damage if you strike in a heavily-shielded area, to normal damage (single shield) to extra damaged if you hit an unshielded area. Some opponents are smarter than others and will move shields more frequently.
Dodging: Double-Tap any direction key during combat to quickly dodge. In my experience this has done little to reduce damage, though possibly it can be helpful. Mostly it grants an increased chance of stunning your opponent on the next hit. Dodging costs stamina, but not too much.

Active Blocking: Active blocking allows you to take reduced damage from enemy attack, but at the cost of other actions and some stamina. Active block drains stamina *every* time you are hit. To block, press the / key. Any combo or spellcasting will be cancelled.

Active shields: Press ctrl + 1-4 to determine the direction of your shields. This applies the same way as enemy shields, i.e you will take less damage if hit in a more shielded area. Double-tap ctrl + 1-3 to focus all shields on that area, ctrl-4 will return to balanced shielding. I have found active shielding to be difficult in practice but it can be extremely useful when fighting one mob in front of you and another that insists on remaining to your side. Concentrate shields on the front + side and you will improve your chances of survival.

Ranged Combat: Ranged attacks target left, center or right areas on the enemy, the same as for melee strikes. In addition, you can increase your range by firing from the first-person viewpoint (use mousewheel to zoom all the way in). Use the crosshair to aim the basic attack.

* Conan was created by author Robert E. Howard in 1932 (source: wikipedia).

Destiny Quests & Night Mode

Each character archetype (soldier, priest, rogue, mage) has a destiny quest. They are all very similar, though with minor variations (rogues sneak and work with the rogue trainer, etc). This quest is not required in order to leave the Tortage starting area. There is a sign near the Rum 'n' Rumble Inn that that indicates at level 15 you can use to get a quest for the smuggler which allows you to leave Tortage without completing the Destiny Quest. The quest comes in several sections, with each section having starting level requirements.

Destiny quests are completed in "Night Mode". Night mode is a single player mode. You can still talk to other people in-game, but you won't see any other PCs in zone with you. Enter night mode by talking an noc in the Thirsty Dog Tavern. You'll be guided to the correct npc, but here's the list just in case:

Soldier: Sigurd
Priest: Belesa
Rogue: Tina
Mage: Cramaleico

Just keep following the quest and eventually you will get through. If you get stuck (like you need to be L15 to continue but you're only L12) go back to day mode, do quests and/or grind. I recommend doing a few day mode quests before entering night mode. This will let you take advantage of some good quick experience. If you start working on night mode first, you'll be too high-level to benefit much from these initial quests.

You will need to be level 19 to start the final section of this destiny quest!

Miscellaneous

Emotes

AoC has MANY emotes. See them all by typing /emote. A window should pop up allowing you to pick emotes from a droplist. You can also just type them command-line. Some have female-specific versions, indicated with _f on the name. Not all of them have animations. Presumably more will be added.

Trade (Auction), Banks & In-Game Mail

Trader npcs are present in cities and provide auction-house, bank and in-game mail functionality. The one in Tortage is not functional (5/21/2008) but it should be up soon.

Leveling and Character Advancement

You will gain new abilities (combos, spells, basic abilities like rest, "dance") just by leveling. Icons across the top of the screen provide access to this information. You do not need to visit a trainer.

Skills: Initially very few skills (0 at L1) will be available. As you gain levels, additional skills will become trainable. These provide everything from run speed to casting concentration, and many are specific to your class. You get quite a few points, so don't expect to put 90 points into it at L9 and be running double speed. Remember there are 80 levels in this game.

Feats: A feats icon will appear (top center of screen) beginning at level 10. Each character will have access to two class-specific specialization trees (left side) and one archetype-specific tree (right side). 1 feat point per level is awarded to players with the exception of levels 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80. When you attain those levels you will receive 2 points for those levels. At 80 you end up with a total of 79 points to spend..so spend wisely!

Welcome to visit our website.well.The following thread is dedicated to providing accurate information about the construction and use of player cities in Age of Conan.

Broken Disabled & or Bugs

The Library currently uses the University Plan & their is no Library Plan
(Mislabeled) just use the University Plan to make your Library and you will be fine.

__________________________________________________ ________________________

Frequently Ask Questions

Q. Do the building have to be built in a specific order?
A. Yes! & here it is...

1 Keep,
2 Trade Post,
3 Temple,
4 Library,
5 Barracks,
6 Theive's Guild,
7 Weaponsmith Workshop,
8 Armorsmith Workshop,
9 Alchemist Workshop,
10 Architect Workshop.

Walls, Towers & Gates Can Be Built Anytime After The Keep Is Built.

Q. Why should we bother building a city? What do we get?

A. Buffs
Merchant NPC's
The ability for you crafters to make high tier crafted goods
Trader
Trainer

Q. Does the guild leader need to be an architect or can any guild member make a building?
A. No any player in the guild can be an architect and construct the city but remember all the cities resources and large amounts of money will need to be sent to that player for construction. I'd recommend using a trusted member only as this is a major investment. Remember architect is a very expensive class to level up having more then one can be a major burden on a small guild.

Q. Are plans consumed when something is built? And/Or turning them in for the quest?
A. Yes plans are consumed each time you build something and for the quests, they are NOT reusable.

Q. Can i use my quest plan to build anything instead of turning it to the npc?
A. Yes you can currently build the city buildings before actually doing the quest.

Q. Does an architect need to make two sets of plans for every building in order to advance to the next tier?
A. Yes one set for the quest and one set for the buildings themselves.

Q. Do any of the buildings actually do anything?
A. The Trade Post Provides one Trader NPC, The Temple Provides a Trainer, The Crafting Professions Buildings Provide a Merchant with good that supply that type of crafter. Also a number of the buildings provide buffs check under our City Buffs section for more info on them.

Q. Why do you lose the plans for a building once it is built.
A. Consumables... It's a gold sink, they keep inflation at bay and prices reasonable.

Q. Do we have to give our people rank to get the buffs from the city buildings?
A. No this rumor has been tested is it is NOT true!

Q. Is there going to be player housing that can be added to the cities one day?
A. No hard evidence one way or the other yet.. rumor mill says Barracks may have instanced housing in it for each member in the guild as well as spawning npc guards... wait as see!

__________________________________________________ ______________________

General Information About Cities

Reserving a guild city location?
The Guild Leader must go to the guild management tab (available at level 20) half way down on the first page there is a zone reservation tool open it and select which of the 3 building zones you want to live in. Choices are Lacheish Plains, Poitain, and Purple Lotus Swamp. You may not currently choose which plot you are assigned within the zone, it's random. I recommend visiting each location before you pick they are very different.
After you have reserved the location it will tell you which instance you live in. Level restriction of 40 for the guild leader, and 24 members were required to reserve your plot, it was bugged when i did it and our city was reserved at level 22. I do not know if the GM's have since fixed this if you can confirm please post a screen shot of the denial because of your level.

Requirements for the guild...
All buildings are 24 members required, so is reserving a city plot.

PvE Nature Of the Towns, Enemy NPC's & Your Neighbors!
Three guilds are assigned to each city zone, on the pvp servers currently. Currently only the three guilds that live in your city zone can enter that zone.Enemy npc's are rumored to spawn and attack your city from time to time at the moment if this is intended it is disabled no npc's have been reported raiding a city to my knowledge.

Battlekeeps
They are not in Lachleish Plains, Poitain or The Purple Lotus Swamp, these are PVE city zones reserved to guilds that live in them. BattleKeeps Exist in Border Kingdom Aquilonian End, Boarder Kingdom Cimmerian End & The Border To Kush. To our knowledge each one of these areas only has one instance with 3 keeps in it a grand total of 9 battle keeps per server, representing each country. Requirements for these will come as we learn more and will be posted in the PvP related forums as well as in another thread here titled Battlekeep Building FAQ. Look for that in the next few days. The only requirement i know for sure for these is a tier 3 PVE City.

City Buffs!
Keep - Max HP - Tier 1 = +13.6 Tier 2 = +27.2 Tier 3 = +54.4
Trade Post - None -
University - Magic Rating (Heroic) Tier 1 = +1 Tier 2 = +2 Tier 3 = +3
Temple - Resistance Rating Rating(Heroic Tier 1 = +1 Tier 2 = +2 Tier 3 = +3
Barracks - Defense Rating (Heroic) Tier 1 = +1 Tier 2 = +2 Tier 3 = +3
Thieve's Guild - Attack Rating (Heroic) Tier 1 = +1 Tier 2 = +2 Tier 3 = +3

Building Repair Costs & Maintenance
Currently No repair Costs or Maintenance Exist...

__________________________________________________ _____________________

Crafting Information

Quest Info
To complete all the quests for the first tier you have to make 18 plans in all. Two parchment(38 Silver Each) and one Drawing Ink(25 Silver Each) per plan from the merchant in the npc cities of Lachleish Plains, Poitain or Purple Lotus Swamp. 18.18g for the Quests.

Cost

Every quest requires you give the trainer samples of each of the plans.
So you are required to "buy" your levels basicly.
Each post in your city will require it's own plan, plans are not reusable they are consumed, this includes the buildings, walls, towers, ect...

Tier 1
Drawing Ink (25 Silver)
Parchment (38 Silver)
18 Plans Needed In Total
1.01g X 18 = (18.18 Gold Total Needed To Finish Tier 1 Quests)

Tier 2
Drawing Ink (25 Silver)
Papyrus (64 Silver)
18 Plans Needed In Total
1.53 x 18 = (27.54 Gold Total Needed To Finish Tier 2 Quests)

Tier 3
Drawing Ink (25 Silver)
Vellum (1.12 Gold)
18 Plans Needed In Total
2.49 x 18 = (44.82 Gold Total Needed To Finish Tier 3 Quests)

Each city zone varies in price, to find out how much your city will cost add up every building "stone". Each Tier has it's own total requirements check below under the tier sections for those numbers.
Also this spreadsheet holds the city costs as well but we warned it has not been updated to reflect the new values so the numbers are off.
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...z_iVEcg&gid=19

When you play the Age of Conan, the first thing you choose in your character development is your class. Here you can choose from Cimmerians, Aquilonians and Stygians. Cimmerian is Conans race. They are tall, grey-eyed, dark haired and fair skinned. They are typically tall, muscular and fierce. Aquilonians are the "Romans", if you like, and they represent the pinnacle of Hyborian culture. They are darker in skin, but they have a larger variation of skin and hair tones than the Cimmerians. Both the Cimmerians and the Aquilonians can choose from three different class types: Soldier, Priest or Rogue archetypes.

To become a Mage, you must choose the Stygian race. They can be understood as the Egyptians from the age of the pharaohs. They have the darkest complexion and are the smallest, but they have a rich and mystical culture. The Stygians can not become warriors.

You choose the main archetype (soldier, rogue, priest or mage) at level five as you reach the city of Tortage in the beginning of the game (after around twenty minutes of play).

The class specialization then happens when you reach level twenty. This happens when you leave the single-player part - and enter the multiplayer universe. You can then choose your class from those available for your archetype, each archetype has three classes.

Welcome to Thepowerlevel and the tip to Train Lightfoot(HD clan only) in 9Dragons. In other words, this is just a eary way to Train Lightfoot in HD clan base only. This is created by doldrums.

There is a trick where you run into a wall and you wont stop. Why is this good? So you wont have to control where your character runs and you can just stay at the same spot and afk till yr VE runs out, then you go back to yr character and you meditate for a full VE again. Rinse and repeat.

If anyone else from other clan's has seen this in their clan base, you can share it here.

The area that im talking about is in HD clan base, temple close to the blood magistrate. At the top of the flight of stairs. Most probably a small bug in the map, but very useful for training yr Lightfoot.

Have no time to earn your gold and level up your character? No problem. You can buy 9Dragons gold and buy 9Dragons power leveling at our website.

This is thepowerlevel.well. Just wanted to drop in some input on what I thought were the best hunting spots for these levels. Keep in mind I am healer class. I put almost nothing in ess, wis, or con letting my bufss/relics/elixers do that. I have enough in dex to wield my weapon, and the rest in str. If you are a nuker, or dex user I'm not sure how much this guide will help you, but I added little bits in about good nuker mobs. Dex users will find leveling past FD6 to be quite a challenge. I would recommend reconsidering your stats, possibly even a chakra purge. Without a healer, a high dex warrior with not so high str will find leveling to be a huge challenge at higher levels.

Anyway - here we go!

Near Mid RC the best hunting spots were worm demons or powerful giants. Worm demons went down easy even the add on them got kind of bad. However they drop venom which sells at around 75gold and blue keys which sell at 200gold. Both of these are fairly regular drops. Powerful giants drop iron and brass on occasion. They die easy and they drop Green Passes of Death Valley, which are fairly valuable.

At later RC levels you will want to kill blood monks. With high str, or a self healing class, they won't give you too much trouble, and these is usually a party hunting them somewhere - especially for white clans.

At low RL levels you will want to kill lightning disciples. They miss quite a lot, especially if you can get up close to them. Hunt them in your first social map (Zhengzhou or Shi Zhang) if you can, because although they are in the next map, the chance for PK is always high in the first area of the first pk maps. Hunt them until you can move on to blood wolf riders. This is another popular party mob.

At RL5 you can start hunting bears, which will last you until RL10-11. Hunt either small bears or big bears, but do not hunt the normal ones. Normal bears are cursed. They add like 5 at a time, and pull big bears into it too, where as small and big bears won't call for back-up. Small and Big bears also seem to have lower hit rates. So hunt small bears until they go green, then switch to big. With high STR hunt bears is a piece of cake. Also good for nukers as they are fairly slow. There are multiple areas for bears, in case pk becomes problematic for you.

At RL10-RL12 head in the Conqueror's Cave in Blood Plain. Make sure to get some herbs from the surrending chests. They combat the posion that can affect you inside. Once in here you'll notice that enemies drop Blood Essence very frequently, and often in sets of 2. The experience rates in here are also a good deal higher for the same level enemy. At RL11 a monk in jinan or datong could give you .18, but an enemy of the same color in CC will give you .23 or higher. If you are a STR user the CC is easier as a whole.

At about mid FD you start to run into clay soldiers which hit hard and take longer to kill, as well as usually having some manner of status effect. I believe this occurs around FD8 or 9. At this point head back out into Jinan or Datong and kill the demons men closer to the VoH gates. They drop VoH passes which are always in high demand. They also die fairly fast, however you won't see many other players around here.

At lower SM levels head back into the CC, and go to the second floor. Here you will find more human NPCs. Same as before, they go down fairly fast, drop good amounts of BE as well. Fight them until you hit more clay soilders.

By this point you should be approaching SM8-10. At this level head to Hangzhou or Nanchong. At this point you want to be after the blood zombies. They are THEE BEST mob to hunt. Good exp, die very quickly, no status effect attacks, low ext wounds, very VERY slow (prime for you nukers), and there are three levels of them (like blood monks, poisonous, vernemous), so you can hunt them until GB3. While I was there they dropped a blood mushroom, and a Lv3 elixer for me. From here you can go back to CC to the third floor and hunt more of the clan-human NPCs. You can also hunt the vangard mobs outside of the wild tower, or the deva mobs outside the mansion, to get their respective passes, which sell decently enough.

That's where my knowledge stops, I've only gotten to GB5 so far. If any of you have questions, let me know. Hope this helps some people out.

It seems to me that everyone in 9Dragons is too busy grinding/leveling/farming/whatnots, and no one have time to stay around and chat. As a result (based on observations from other MMORPGs), people get tired of grinding when they don't get what they want, and leave. This guide is designed to assist an individual in stress reduction, increasing the fun factor, and prevent carpel tunnel syndrome. It does not contain any actual leveling locations, positions, tips, strategies, "how to leech off your party", and the like. The author is accepting questions, comments, and rude remarks.

So, without further ado: here's the useful bit.

Stress factor: Let us first look at your mind. Your mind works just like every other human being. We're happy when we get stuff we want, we're sad when we don't get stuff we want, and we get angry when we die while grinding due to lag/whatnots.

While grinding, stress builds up in your mind. Some people can tolerate more buildup, some people less. As you become more and more frustrated, it'll hurt you much more then that bear you're pounding into the dirt.

Here are a few general tips/reminders that I think will help a few individuals, should they come across this post greatly.

-Time. You'd be surprised how fast time goes by.or how slow time seem to move. Socializing helps immensely when leveling. Just be careful of chatlag or chatdeath (happened to me on more then one occasion, even at my low level, xP)

-Location. If there's 2432423423423 other players grinding at your spot. It's probably NOT a good idea to go there. Try to avoid conflict by moving.

-Mindset. Now, instead of smashing your keyboard in frustration, try having a positive mindset.

Take things with a grain of salt, remember it's a game. When you find yourself losing patience, press the nice F12 button and log out. Go outside, take a breath of fresh air. Do something else. When you're positive, everything else would seem more positive, and it's beneficial to you, if not to the guy next to you.

Bad idea: "OMG. GOD. PLZ. I NEED [insert item here]" or "IF I DON'T GET TO [insert level here] IM GONNA BE REALLY ANGRY!"

Better idea: "If I get the stuff, it's good." or "Chill. It's just a game".

Luck: Here's how luck works. Since 9D does not have even a set drops rate table for us to refer to, I would assume that many things are merely by chance. If your friend/clan buddy/the meditating beggar next door who's lagging everyone up got item X it does not mean that you'll get one. Remember that luck is .luck. It works differently for everyone.

Hopefully the article can help you. just look through. you will learn something from it.If you have any questions .feel free to contact our customer service by live chat.we will help you there. and if you need to order gold or power leveling from our website. then click here.
Here is the quick link: 9Dragons Gold and 9Dragons Power leveling .Thanks for your support!
